CMA Data & Project Financing
Preparation of CMA data for bank loans, working capital limits and project appraisal.
Banks assess working capital and term loan proposals on a standard set of statements, and a proposal usually slows down because the projections are internally inconsistent rather than because the business is weak.
The firm prepares CMA data in the format the lending bank uses: past and projected profit and loss statements, balance sheets, the fund flow statement, and the working capital assessment supporting the limit applied for. Projections are built from the audited past results and the company’s own operating assumptions, and the key ratios the credit team will test are computed and checked before the file is submitted.
Where the bank raises queries during appraisal, the firm assists in preparing the response.
